ALL TEAM TENNIS MATCHES ARE PLAYED AT SHAKOPEE HIGH SCHOOL
The new Shakopee High School is located at 100 17th Avenue West in Shakopee. The tennis courts are located on the southwest side of the complex.
Directions: From Highway 169 take the Marschall Road exit and head south to 17th Avenue (first main road south of 169). Turn right (west) and proceed approximately 2 miles (through one 4-way stop) the school will be on your left.
The Stans Park/Jr. High courts are located on the corner of 10th Ave and Fuller Street in Shakopee. Click here for a Google map of the site.
From Highway 169, take the Marschall Road exit. Proceed North on Marschall Road 2 stoplights to 10th Avenue. Turn Left (west) on 10th and proceed approximately 10 blocks to the courts.
Lion's Park courts are located at 123 Adams Street South in Shakopee. These are 4 courts used for overflow.
From Highway 169 Take the Adams Street/Marystown Road exit and proceed north on Adams Street for 3 blocks. The courts are located next to the Shakopee Pool.
STA Team Tennis is a USTA sanctioned competitive program for players with match play experience. Players are divided by skill level and age and placed on teams of 8-10 players.
Teams are made up of 1/2 boys and 1/2 girls and will compete against teams from the surrounding area. The team season culminates with the Area Championships on July 17 & 18 in Shakopee and the Sectional Championships at the U of M Baseline Tennis Center July 28 - 31.
Sectional winners advance to Nationals in late October.
All team players will be entered into the Shakopee Summer Sizzler Challenger 1 individual tournament June 27-29.
Practice starts on May 19th and match play begins the week of June 16. Teams are divided by age and ability.
Team divisions are:
Practice starts May 19th at 5 PM at Stans Park/ Jr. High Courts.
Practice before school year ends will be held May 19, 21, 23, 27-30, and June 2-5
Starting June 9th Practice is held Monday - Thursday at Stans Park
12U & 14U 12:30 - 2 p.m.
18U 2 - 3:30 p.m.
All home matches will be played at the Shakopee High School
Cost $175* (Cost includes professional instruction and skill development, uniforms, practice T-shirts, USTA membership
fee, tournament fees, area championship fees, city fees, and lots of tennis!)
*There is a $7.50 ball fee for Team Tennis that will be added on checkout

The Team Tennis format has improved for 2007! The USTA will be handling all match scheduling through Tennislink. To make our program successful wee are seeking parent team coordinators.
Duties will include match coordination with coaches and opposing teams, car pool scheduling, and results entry into Tennislink (it's easy!).
